Cómo comenzó: El origen de Blu.
September 2018, Gonzalo and Juan Pablo are thinking of something. For months now, they’ve been approached by several clients to work on different projects involving PR, Branding, content creation, and social media management. To them, it was clear that they needed a bigger way to manage their projects. Not only that, but the idea of creating an agency where a client could find all they were looking for in terms of creative resources to produce excellent publicity started to grow in their minds. Thus, Blu was born.
However, to fully understand how Blu got where it got, we must go a year after its inception, in 2019, when Diego, the third head of Blu and current Managing Partner, came into the picture. It all starts with Mau & Ricky. No, really. Turns out Diego met his future partners in the sound-check of a Mau & Ricky concert. They saw each other and wondered: “Where the #!@¡ have I seen this guy?” It figures that Juan Pablo and Gonzalo had already met Diego months ago since he happened to work in the same offices as they did, but now, being properly introduced, they found out he had been in the creative industry for years, having worked in Miami, Florida. To put it one way: the partnership of Blu´s three founders was something meant to be.
Finally, with the last piece of the puzzle in place, and a crystal clear direction to lead the way, Juan Pablo, Gonzalo, and Diego brought all of their previous ideas to the table and were ready to launch their project on a bigger scale.
Blu is an agency founded by people who learned the rules of the industry inside out with the sole purpose of breaking them. This way, Blu could always offer something new to its partners, bringing a diverse group of creators from different areas together and nurturing an environment where creativity could be a constant, and innovation an everyday task.
Most of all, with this initiative, the three of them wanted to make a statement: In here we have it all baby. PR, brand building, influencer marketing and management, content creation, design…you name it. Whatever a client was looking for, Blu had it. And so, it began.
So…4 years after its origin, how far has Blu come?
We’ve come to be many things, except for one: boring. With a team of 35 plus members, more than 100 partnerships in 4 different countries, 3 departments, and 1 rescue dog we picked up along the way, Blu is proud to be recognized as a 360-degree agency that serves as the full package for any client willing to reinvent themselves.
For our partners, Blu has become a new way of seeing things, an effective resource for expanding their customer base, and the insight of professionals that have acquired a particular expertise after many years in the business.
To this day, our ambition keeps fueling us to strive to be more than we were yesterday. We want to be a key player. To lead the Mexican creative industry in a new direction and keep offering fresh perspectives and voices. We want to be the place where creators come to grow and learn.
These are our goals. This is our story, and here at Blu, we’re only getting started.
